Izuu, Nneka na uju: the end.

... After the visitor left, her father handed over the keys and the envelope to her, she too was at a lost as to who could have gone this far, however, she had decided to put her past behind and is willing to accept her fate as long as the person is her Mr. right.  So unlike before she quietly began to open the envelope, her heart beating rapidly, her father objected to that and advised her to take her time and do it at her convenience since the envelope is hers, her mother said same thing but in response she forced a smile on her face and said it's not a big deal. She went through the short letter inside the envelope in a jiffy and sighed. "It was Izuu," She said, he wants to help me in my business for old time sake.  Then she stood up and left before her parents could notice the tears forming in her eyes.

Uju sold the shops and left the village to start a new life in Mgbidi, another distant town,

Izuu, Nneka na Uju: the meeting before the end.

Uju fell ill for weeks, amidst her sickness, she told her parents everything that transpired between her and Nneka, her parents and siblings consoled her day and night on her sick bed. Other village youths got to hear the story too, some doubted her and accused her of always being too full of herself, some believed her and some others were indifferent to her story. Eventually she recovered and started to keep to her self, she completely lost trust for men, and hardly gave them any opportunity to come close to her. She was so bitter about Nneka and everything that happened.

Nneka had gone with her husband Izuchukwu to the city of Onitsha immediately after her traditional marriage,

Izuu, Nneka na Uju II: A true story

 ...Continue from part I:

Uju accepted the advice from her childhood friend, Nneka, she do not want to appear cheap to Izuchukwu, and again she wanted to be sure that Izuu's love for her was real as opined by Nneka.

She therefore feigned anger and brushed aside every one of Izuu's advances, his pleas fell on deaf ears, not really deaf ears though because she was madly in love with Izuu, with every passing day she found out that she can't hold on anymore, the last time he showed up, she felt like rushing into his arms and squeezing him tight against herself but Nneka was there too and looked at her disapprovingly, always encouraging her to hang on a little more.

Izuchukwu felt frustrated, he do not know what has come over his love, the one dreamt about every night back there at Onitsha, the one with whom he hopes to begin a new life with in the big city of Lagos soon, his life so tumbled over that even his parents and those close to him took notice. Izuu had hoped to her dowry this Christmas and take her with him to Onitsha where his Church wedding will take place, now all his plans and hustles to save up all this money appear to be in vain.

Before the COVID-19 lock down, I was in Aba, had a heated argument with a commercial motorcyclist at Osisioma, other people supported me and asked him to give me my balance.
The argument was in English language, the young man looked at me from head to toe, not knowing what else to say, he scratched his head, dipped hands into his pocket brought out my balance angrily and gave it to me.
I stretched my hands and as soon as I collected the money, He said, looking at me,
"Zoo janjaweed, maaaaaad people every where", my anger evaporated, I started laughing, tried to stop him but he zoomed off.
