The District Governor of Rotary International, District 9142, Rtn Ndukwu Chukwu on Wednesday paid a working visit to the Rotary Club of Okigwe, having earlier been received at the Abia Tower of Peace by officials of Zone 3 and 4.
During the visit to R. C. Okigwe and Ugwunwangwu, the D. G. did the foundation laying ceremony of the Rotary Wheel/four way test structure being constructed by R. C. Okigwe at Police Field, near St. Mary, Okigwe. One of the cardinal projects of the Rtn Sarah Ihedigbo led Club.
The Club had earlier secured the approval of the local government Chairperson, Lolo Nkechi Mbonu, and the Police for the erection of the signage at the tip of the Police Field. From their, the President, Sarah led the to the house of the Charter President on a courtesy call. The Charter President of the Rotary Club of Okigwe, Rtn Joe Obioha presented Kola to the delegation and thanked them for the visit, a photo session was held thereafter.

Thereafter, the DG's entourage moved to Pego Hotels for the Club Assembly with Rotary Club of Okigwe and the Rotary Club of Ugwunwangwu.
The high points of the Assembly includes the Induction of Rev. Father Chukwuma as members of the Rotary Club of Okigwe.
the Presentation of Awards to members of the DG's entourage,
as well as the conferment of a Chieftency title on the DG by His Royal Highness from R. C. Ugwunwangwu.
The DG left for Umuahia after the event to continue his working tour to other Zone 3 and 4 Clubs.
