The National and State Assembly Elections Tribunal of Abia State has cancelled the election of the former governor of Abia State, Mr. Orji Uzor Kalu and has ordered for a rerun in the Abia North Senatorial zone which the former governor is presently representing in the Nigeria's upper legislative chamber, the Senate.
A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos State had earlier found him guilty of alleged involvement in corrupt acts as governor of Abia State. He was allegedly charged for the the laundering of #7.65bn and sentenced to 12 years imprisonment. A very hard time awaits the governor as we move into the new year.
